Striking dark modern siding with wood accents on a Blue Mountains home

Siding installation and replacement

Siding that transforms the house and seals it tight.

Maibec wood, engineered wood and premium vinyl siding, plus custom pine board and batten, installed across the Headwaters and the Collingwood corridor. Crisp lines, proper ventilation and flashing, and a home that is warmer for it.

Curb appeal with a job underneath

The visible layer is half the work.

New siding changes how a house looks from the street, and our clients tell us their homes feel noticeably warmer afterwards. The part you do not see matters just as much: housewrap, flashing and ventilation detailing that keep moisture out of the wall through every freeze-thaw cycle.

When we open up an old wall and find a problem, we show it to you, explain your options, and fix it properly. That is the part of the job our reviews keep mentioning.

  • Custom pine board and batten, horizontal lap, shakes and vertical profiles.
  • Maibec wood, engineered wood, vinyl and aluminium options, matched to your home and budget.
  • Aluminum soffit and fascia work to finish the roofline cleanly.

Why us

Why homeowners trust us with their exterior.

Matched to the home

Modern, farmhouse or classic: profiles and colours chosen to suit the architecture, not fight it.

Crisp, consistent lines

Battens spaced evenly, corners mitred cleanly, penetrations trimmed instead of caulked over.

Built to shed water

Housewrap, flashing and rainscreen details handled properly so walls stay dry for decades.

Problems surfaced, not hidden

Rot or wiring surprises get shown to you with options, never covered up and forgotten.

The profile we are known for

Board and batten, done sharp.

The vertical board and batten profile defines the modern builds in our gallery: deep blacks, navies and weathered wood with crisp, evenly spaced battens. It suits both new construction and re-sides, and it is the look most clients call us about.

It can be built in real wood, engineered wood or premium vinyl at different price points, and we will tell you honestly where each makes sense for your wall, your exposure and your budget.

  • Battens laid out to the window lines, not just stock spacing.
  • Dark colours specced with finishes that hold against south-facing sun.
  • Matching soffit, fascia and trim so the roofline finishes clean.

Our process

Every exterior starts with a conversation.

We begin by listening: the look you want, the maintenance you are willing to live with, and the budget you are working inside. Then we bring samples, lay out the real trade-offs between wood, engineered and vinyl profiles, and give you a written quote.

During the install we protect your landscaping, keep the site clean every day, and finish with a walkaround so nothing gets left half-done behind a downspout.

Zack and Jon just finished my siding last week. Very professional, easy going and cleaned up at the end of each day. Very attentive to detail. Couldn't ask for anyone better.

Siding questions, answered

What homeowners ask us about siding.

What is the best siding for Ontario's climate?

For freeze-thaw resistance and lifespan, engineered and fiber cement products lead, with quality insulated vinyl close behind on value. Real wood looks unmatched but wants more maintenance. The right answer depends on the house, your appetite for upkeep and your budget, and we will tell you honestly which combination fits.

What is board and batten siding?

A vertical profile that alternates wide boards with narrow battens over the seams. It is the signature look of modern farmhouse and contemporary builds, and it is most of what you see in our gallery. It can be done in wood, engineered wood or vinyl at different price points.

Do dark siding colours fade?

All siding weathers, and dark colours show it sooner on south-facing walls. Modern engineered products and factory finishes hold colour far better than site-painted wood. We help you pick products whose fade warranties match the look you want.

Will new siding lower my heating bills?

It often helps. A re-side is the natural moment to fix gaps in the air barrier and add insulation under the cladding, and our clients regularly tell us the house feels warmer afterwards. The siding itself matters less than the wrap, sealing and insulation detail done while the wall is open.

What are the signs my siding should be replaced?

Cracked, cupped or loose boards, paint that will not hold, soft spots near grade, moisture or mould inside exterior walls, and pest damage. If a repair will honestly buy you years, we say so. If the wall has systemic problems, patching is money down the drain.

Can siding be installed in winter?

Within limits. Vinyl gets brittle in deep cold and needs careful handling and expansion gaps, while wood and engineered products are more forgiving. We schedule around hard freezes so the install is right, which is also why shoulder seasons book up first.

Do I need a permit to replace siding?

It depends on the material and your municipality: some townships exempt straight replacements only for certain claddings, and structural repairs change the answer too. We confirm what applies to your project before work starts.

How long does a full re-side take?

Most homes take days to a couple of weeks on site depending on size, the state of the wall underneath and the profile being installed. You get a realistic timeline with the written quote, and we keep the site livable the whole way through.

Planning your budget

What will your re-side cost?

See typical Ontario siding prices per square foot by material in our siding cost guide, then ask about flexible financing to spread the cost over manageable monthly payments.

Finish the whole envelope.

New siding pairs naturally with new eavestrough, soffit and fascia, and many siding clients add a deck while we are on site. One crew, matched details, one accountable result, from Caledon to Collingwood.
